Hertig Karl is a comfortable small hotel with a personal, cosy atmosphere of friendly hospitality. The hotel is situated in the middle of Drottninggatan in central Filipstad.

From its calm surroundings in the old part of town you can easily reach the historical buildings. The hotel is a charming patriarchal villa from the beginning of the 1900´s, which has been carefully renovated to comply with all the demands which are made on a modern hotel without spoiling its historical charm.

Hotel Hertig Karl welcomed its first guests in the summer of 2001. It has quickly become a popular and natural choice of the businessman as well as private guests visiting Filipstad.

The hotel is named after the founder of Filipstad, Duke Karl – later Karl IX.

The hotel has its own free parking area in the yard.

The hotel is a non-smoking hotel.
